KARE Open Source Society (KARE OSS)
KARE OSS is the official open-source and innovation club of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and
Education (KARE).
The club aims to foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and hands-on learning among
students.Through hackathons, workshops, coding competitions, and community projects, KARE OSS empowers
students to explore emerging technologies, contribute to open-source projects, and build practical
skills for the future. Our mission is to create a vibrant tech community where innovation thrives and
knowledge is freely shared.
A 24-hour hackathon organized by the KARE Open Source Society, bringing together innovators and problem-solvers. The event combines intense hands-on coding with structured learning sessions led by experienced mentors. Participants will collaborate, innovate, and compete to build impactful solutions in a high-energy environment. The hackathon encourages creativity, teamwork, and the practical application of technical skills. It serves as a platform for students to explore open-source technologies and transform ideas into real-world solutions.
Software Freedom Festival 3.0 - Project Showcase is a flagship event organized by the KARE Open Source Society as part of VINTRA 2025. The event provides a platform for students to present innovative open-source projects and demonstrate their technical expertise. Participants are encouraged to share ideas, inspire creativity, and promote the values of open-source collaboration. This showcase celebrates innovation, learning, and the spirit of community-driven development. creativity and contributing to the open-source ecosystem. In this event, students can showcase their projects and learn from each other.
